The Jerome School District Announces the Selection of
Brent Johnson as Superintendent
Jerome, Idaho — The Jerome School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the selection of Brent Johnson as the finalist for Superintendent of the Jerome Jt. School District #261, with a hire date effective July 1, 2024. Brent Johnson brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership to our district and is well-prepared to lead our schools into a bright and promising future. After much deliberation, reading and considering the community comment cards, the School Board Trustees selected Brent Johnson. The Trustees felt Brent Johnson had the communication and leadership skills our district needs at this time. He is excited to join our amazing district. Thank you for your support during this process and we look forward to him joining our team in July!
Brent Johnson comes to Jerome School District from Wausau School District, Wausau, Wisconsin, where he served as Principal at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School since 2018. During his tenure as Principal, he innovated intervention systems that led to exceptional student growth in a diverse high-poverty student population. Brent Johnson was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award in 2020 for exceptional student academic growth, and he received the Teacher of the Year Award from Portsmouth Public Schools-Churchland Primary.
The Jerome Jt. School District conducted a comprehensive search, led by the Idaho School Boards Association, to find a superintendent who would drive the district's mission. Brent Johnson was selected after a rigorous selection process, highlighting his commitment to facilitating the growth of students and staff, fostering collaboration with all stakeholders and building enduring relationships within the district and community.
