The Jerome School District Special Services program offers special education services and related services as specified in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for children ages 3-21 who have been determined to be eligible for such services. 

Special education is defined as instruction that is specifically designed to meet the unique educational needs of a child with a disability, guided by the State of Idaho  Idaho Special Education Manual .  This instruction is designed with the goal of ensuring maximum access and benefit from the general education curriculum to best meet the needs of the individual student.  Services are determined based on the child's areas of need and the customized goals that each child has to support their access to the general education curriculum.

Service Areas may include:

  • Academic (math, reading, written expression)

  • Behavior or social emotional

  • Communication

  • Life Skills (Adaptive/Self Help Skills)

  • Motor (Fine or Gross)

  • Academic Organization/Management. 

Communication and  Motor Services may be considered related services.
