Horizon Elementary School Moment of Silence

Beginning with the 2026 - 2027 school year, as a part of the passed Idaho House Bill 623, all K-12 public school district are required to observe a mandatory period of silence each school day.

How will this look at Horizon?

During our Morning Announcements, before the Pledge of Allegience each day, we will observe 60 seconds of silence.

Why are you being notified?

Idaho Law requires schools to notify parents and guardians of this new procedure. The expectation is that families discuss with their child(ren) how they would like to use this time. We encourage you to have thoughtful conversations with your child(ren) to best utilize this time.
