Idaho District First in State to Deploy Transportant Safety Tech

We're the first district in Idaho to deploy Transportant’s advanced school‑bus safety system—so parents, students, and drivers can all enjoy extra peace of mind.

The new tech includes:

• Live-stream cameras (inside and outside the bus)

• Audio takeover capability to help the driver manage serious misbehavior

• Parent app with real‑time bus location tracking and boarding alerts

• Automated license‑plate capture to catch drivers illegally passing stopped school buses

District Transportation Director Tim Hicks explained that “student safety and driver support are priorities for our district” and this could even improve driver retention by reducing disciplinary load. Next school year, we will run our own fleet of 32 buses.
