Clubs & Organizations Athletics

Aca-Deca (Academic Decathlon)

Adviser: Wendy Wright

This club is a national organization which studies a different topic each year and tests over ten different areas on that topic.

Chess Club

Adviser: Jeff Yeager

Chess is a fun game that incorporates many aspects of a good learner: knowledgeable, inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk- takers, balanced, and reflective. The chess club is meant to foster scholar's intellectual growth while having fun.

Crossing Bridges

Adviser: Anna Trelles

This is a folkloric/dance/singing club that focuses on music, dances and food from the Hispanic culture. Students participate in Hispanic events from our community and surrounding areas throughout the year. Students also participate in school assemblies where they share Hispanic culture through dancing/singing performances.

DECA

Adviser: Ron Hanson

This is a national organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Esports

Advisor: Brady Flores

Tryout for teams with other students in popular video games like Valorant, Rocket League, Smash Bros, Fortnite, Overwatch, and League of Legends. Teams will face off against other high schools all around Idaho, culminating in a state tournament at BSU's Esports Center.

Envirothon

Adviser: Katherin Dickson

Excellent opportunity to learn more about our environment, solutions that are taking place to improve our environment that focuses on land use, wildlife, water ecosystems, forestry, and current issues. State competitions are held in the spring (usually late April).

This is a great opportunity if you are interested in learning more about the environment or careers related to the environment.

FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America)

Adviser: Nicole Prince

This is a student lead organization that focuses on the multiple roles of the family, and preparing for the career world by promoting personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Science Education.

FFA

Advisors: N. Lebsack, A. Garcia, and M. Aoi

FFA develops student skills in leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education and competition with students around the state and nation.

Game Club

Adviser: TBD

Gaming club provides students a safe place to participate in a variety of activities including card games, board games, role playing games and more. Students can develop leadership skills, strategic and logical thinking, good sportsmanship and positive social skills.

HOSA

Advisor: Lisa Thomson

HOSA is an international student organization

recognized by the U.S. Department

of Education and the Health Science Education

(HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission

is to promote career opportunities in the health

care industry and to enhance the delivery of

quality health care to all people.

National Honor Society

Adviser: Jared Sorenson

This national organization recognizes students who show outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, service and character. Eligible students are invited to join at the end of their sophomore year.

Quiz Bowl

Adviser: TBD

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl® is a nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Middle and high school student teams are composed of four students, one alternate, and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach. These teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math.

Robotics

Advisor: Penni Aufderheide – Keck

Robotics Club is a team-oriented competitive club in which students work together to build robots and program them to compete in events against teams from other schools.

Tiger Troupe Drama Club

Love to be on stage? Or are you the type of person who stays behind the scenes to make things happen? Either way, this club may be for you. The Tiger Troupe Drama Club meets after school to present plays for live audiences several times a year. Actors audition for roles in Tiger Troupe productions and rehearse after school. Technicians may volunteer and participate as available. All are welcome! Come be part of something special. Students do not have to be in drama class to be a part of the club.

Travel Club

Advisers: Rachel Craig and Stacy Sobotka

This club is designed to give the students an opportunity to travel to different parts of the world. International travel gives students a greater appreciation for the world around them. They are exposed to the history, food, culture, and languages of different areas of the world. Our club is open to all students within our school district and currently we travel every other year.

Ultimate Frisbee

Adviser: Dallin Peterson

The Ultimate Frisbee club meets at lunch to teach athletic skills and teamwork in an extremely fun, low risk environment. Mostly, we just have a lot of fun playing and learning Ultimate.
