Student Vehicle Parking


Students are permitted to park on school premises as a matter of privilege, not of right. Patrols and inspections may be conducted without notice, without student consent, and without a search warrant.  Students are required to unlock vehicles for reasonable inspection when instructed to do so by an administrator. Failure to cooperate may result in the loss of permission to drive a vehicle onto campus, in-school suspension, or short-term suspension from school. In cases involving drugs, alcohol, or firearms the local sheriff or police may be called.


Students will be permitted to park their vehicle in the school parking lot provided they have:

  1. Current vehicle insurance policy;

  2. Driver’s license; 

  3. Vehicle registration; and

  4. Completed the school vehicle registration process; 


Additional parking requirements include:

  1. Students must complete the Student Vehicle Parking form prior to parking on school grounds.

  2. Students must display parking permit in vehicle.

  3. Automobiles are restricted to parking in their designated spaces All automobiles inappropriately parked are subject to being towed without additional warning and at owner’s expense.

  4. Automobiles that are not registered and/or do not display the appropriate permit are subject to being towed without additional warning at owner’s expense.

  5. The Jerome School District assumes no responsibility for automobiles left in the lot overnight;

  6. The Jerome School District is not responsible for theft or damage to automobiles parked in the student parking lot;

  7. Littering is prohibited on school grounds.

  8. Students shall not occupy the parking lot during normal class time, except when the student has written permission from an administrator. Students may pick up and drop off school related materials during passing time if needed.

  9. Students are prohibited from loitering in the parking lot.  Students must enter the building immediately upon arrival.


Vehicles

Failure to comply with parking guidelines may result in:

  1. The vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.

  2. Temporary or permanent loss of parking privileges.
