BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 261

Jerome, Lincoln and Gooding Counties, Idaho

Administrative Complex Board Room


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the patrons of school district No. 261, that a special work session of the Board of Trustees of said district has been called to be held on April 2, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at Jerome School District Administration Offices, 125 4th Avenue West, Jerome. The purpose of the special meeting is:


  1. Call to Order 5:00p


Individuals who wish to address the Board of Trustees regarding any action items must sign in prior to the start of the regular board meeting at 5:00 p.m. and placed before each action item on the agenda.


  1. Consideration and adoption of a four-day school week calendar for the 2027-28 school year, inclusive of 152 instructional days with no loss of instructional hours, and incorporating 2 (two) monthly PD/ teacher workdays and 2 (two) monthly mental health days. (Action)


  1. Adjourn (Action)


This special meeting of the Board of Trustees was called pursuant to Chapter 5, Title 33 and Chapter 2, Title 74, Idaho Code. Dated this 27th day of March, 2026.

Public Comment at Jerome School District School Board Meetings:


The board wants to hear input from the community related to board business and decisions, 

while at the same time effectively conduct board business. The board hears public comment 

during the regular business session board meetings and special meetings with action items. 


Each speaker is allotted a maximum of three (3) minutes to address the Board

and must sign in prior to the start of the regular Board meeting at 4:30 p.m.


Per policy 4105, total time allotted for public comment will not exceed one (1) hour.


If a speaker is unable to complete their presentation within the allotted time, it is recommended that they submit written comments or testimony to the Board prior to the meeting.


Written materials for Board Members must be submitted to the Board Clerk.  The written material must include the name, address and telephone number of the person submitting it.  A copy of the materials that meet these requirements will be forwarded to Board Members if received by close of business day the Tuesday preceding the Board Meeting. Materials should not be sent directly to Board Members.


The Board may decline to hear repetitive comments. The Chair may also deny an individual the opportunity to address the Board if the individual has previously addressed the Board on the same subject within the past two months.
