Detention
For minor infractions of school rules or regulations, or for minor misconduct, staff may detain students. Any of
these infractions may result in detention.
Preceding the assessment of such punishment, the staff member shall inform the student of the nature of the
offense charged, and/or the specific conduct that allegedly constitutes the violation. The student shall be afforded
an opportunity to explain or justify his or her actions to the staff member.
Students detained for corrective action shall be under the supervision of the staff member or designee.
