Student Government


The Board encourages the function of student councils in the District’s elementary and secondary schools. Student

councils shall assist in improving the general welfare of all students and give students the opportunity to

participate in the orderly workings of the democratic process


Student councils shall not have authority to make policies or procedures for the District or the school. However,

they may make recommendations to the administration on any topic of student concern.


Eligibility rules for candidates and rules for conducting campaigns and elections should be published, widely

announced and uniformly enforced.
