   WHEREAS, Shane Humphries has been a member of the Board of Trustees of School District No. 261, after having been sworn into office on January 6, 2022, after having been duly appointed in accordance with the applicable laws of the State of Idaho; and

Declaration of Zone 2 Vacancy on Board of Trustees

      WHEREAS, said trustee has moved out of his zone and has resigned from his appointment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33-504, Idaho Code, this Board of Trustees is required to declare a vacancy when the above stated condition exists;

      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of Jt. Jerome School District No. 261 hereby declares that Shane Humphries is disqualified from holding the office of Trustee for the above stated reasons: (a) moved out of zone;

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a vacancy on the Board of Trustees is hereby declared, which vacancy will be filled by appointment within ninety (90) days.

Application for Zone 2 Vacancy on Board of Trustees

Pursuant to Section 33-504, Idaho Code, the Jerome School Board of Trustees, at its June 24, 2024, meeting, declared a vacancy for the Zone 2 Trustee position.  The board will be accepting “Letters of Interest” from qualified individuals until July 23, 2024.  To qualify for the position, interested parties shall be a registered voter and a resident of Trustee Zone 2.  Zone 2 is approximately the South West portion of the district.  (Boundaries of Trustee Zone 2 are available by calling the District Clerk, at 324-2392 ext. 1010.)

Trustee information and boundary maps can be picked up at the Jerome School District office, 125 4th Avenue West.

To be considered for the Zone 2 Trustee vacancy, please submit a “Letter of Interest” indicating:

  • Your familiarity with the Jerome School District

  • Your previous involvement with the Jerome Schools in terms of volunteer work, participation in student programs, or as a vendor/contractor.

  • Your involvement in the community – length of residence, occupation and involvement in service organizations, etc.

  • Why you want to be a school trustee.

  • How the Jerome School District can benefit from your participation as a school trustee.

Letters must be submitted on or before July 23, 2024.
