News Release - Superintendent Search

Jerome Jt. School District No. 261 Board of Trustees held a special meeting on April 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Jerome School District Administration Offices, to continue the Superintendent Search process. During the open meeting, Chairman Staci Leavitt recognized Idaho School Board Communications and Programs Associate Katie Russell, who reviewed hiring best practices, open meeting law, superintendent certification and the applicants reference calls process. be found on the attached pages. Ms. Russell then presented the board with Superintendent applications.

The board of trustees recessed into executive session and reviewed the applications submitted for Jerome School District Superintendent. The board then returned to open session and passed motions to interview the following six semi-finalists for the open superintendent position, the names are listed in alphabetical order: Matthew Coleman, Douglas Erickson, Jill Hettinger, Brent Johnson, Nathan Tracy and Tyler Wardle.

The board of trustees also moved to schedule interviews with the six semi-finalists and arrange twenty-five (25) minute web-interviews to be conducted at a special meeting during executive session on Monday, April 8, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the trustees are to submit interview questions to the board chairman by Thursday, April 4 at noon. The board also moved to schedule a special meeting with an executive session for Wednesday, April 10, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for trustees to determine the finalists for the open Superintendent position.

During the special meeting on April 10, 2024, the board will discuss logistics and date for the community forum, allowing patrons and staff the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates in advance and meet the candidates.
